Have you tried to find natural soaps and shampoos only to find that they still have harmful chemicals or “scents” that include who knows what ingredients?
Avoid the pain of searching and trialing and try this recipe that’s clean, easy, and so gentle!
I love this soap because it’s multi-purpose. I personally have dry skin and this soap has done my skin wonders. It’s not drying but you feel very clean. There are many natural soaps that don’t have suds (which soaps really don’t need) but this one does and I like that it lathers up some.
I use this on my toddler for body and hair and I have since she was a baby. She had really bad eczema as an infant but I began using this and only this soap and her skin hasn’t had irritation since.
Shake well after you make it then shake it before each use to make sure everything is re-incorporated.
For the serving size I am going off of 1 Tablespoon per use, whether that’s for body wash or shampoo or both.
- Distilled Water
- Castile Soap
- Vitamin E oil
- Aloe Vera Gel/Juice
Dr. Bronners: For this recipe I like to use the Baby Unsented Pure-Castile Liquid Soap.
Their Peppermint Pure-Castile Oil Soap is also a great one! The peppermint oil is strong and this makes the soap super refreshing.
Aloe Vera Gel: This recipe calls for aloe vera gel, however lately I’ve been using aloe vera juice because I have a huge container of it that’s lasted forever! Both work well.
Distilled Water: You don’t want to use tap water, it can mold. If you plan to go through the entire amount quickly you might be fine but I would recommend only using distilled.
Vitamin E Oil: My preferred oil is vitamin E but I also like to use jajoba oil in this recipe.
Why an opaque bottle? Anything with oils does better in a dark bottle that can keep out the light to help the oils last longer.
Homemade All-in-One Soap and Shampoo
- 1 cups distilled water
- 1 cups castile soap we use Dr. Bronners
- Just under ½ teaspoon vitamin E You can use jajoba, grapeseed, or sunflower oils instead
- 1 cups aloe vera gel
- In an opaque bottle, use a funnel to pour in castille soap, alo vera gel, and vitamin E oil. Pour in distilled water last to also help rinse out any leftover residue from measuring cup. Shake ingredients well and let sit at least an hour before use. Shake slightly before each use to reincorporate ingredients.
