This apple pie oatmeal isn't just for breakfast, you can enjoy it as a healthy dessert too! Use certified gluten-free oats as needed and enjoy the natural sweetener, raw walnuts, and delicious apple pie spices that bring this delicious oatmeal together.
1cuprolled oats(option to use certified gluten-free oats)
1 ¼cupwater
GARNISH
walnut pieces
additional diced apples
sprinkle cinnamon and maple syrup as desired
Instructions
Dice apples into ¼ inch cubes.
In a small, heavy-bottom saucepan, add rolled oats, cinnamon, and nutmeg and mix together. Add in the maple syrup, diced apples, and water and combine. Heat on medium-low heat for 7-8 minutes, covered, stirring occasionally with heat-safe spatula or chopstick to avoid sticking.
Decrease to low heat and keep covered for another 4-5 minutes.
Transfer oatmeal to a serving bowl, or two, and garnish with fresh diced apples, diced walnut pieces, and sprinkle with additional cinnamon and maple syrup to taste.
Enjoy with any milk of your choice, or Greek yogurt!
